When the going gets tough, the tough swim through it

I just got laid off last week. Nothing personal, times are hard.

That is a bit of a setback to my plans for swimming the Catalina Channel this year. It is not an endeavor taken lightly! The boat is expensive:

Getting the swim sanctioned by the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation costs $500-$750

If I can't find consistent paid work by the end of March, I will wait until next year and assist others in their crossings this year...
In the meantime I will use my new wealth of time to do the February Fitness Challenge!

I hold the 45-49 Women's record of 240.1 miles for the event. I did that last year with a full time job. I have aged up, so have another challenge to beat this year! My friend Stephanie of ZsuZsi Swimwear has provided bikinis for the month (tan lines!) and other goodies so I have a swimwear sponsor for this event!

This starts tomorrow morning, so I need to get ready now!
